We’re a group of six who believe our village would really benefit from a shop that serves both residents and visitors. With the support of our community, we’re excited to work together to bring the shop back to life!
It’s all about coming together to create something really special for Coverack and its community, helping the village thrive, and opening a shop that welcomes both locals and visitors.

Yes, we believe there will be available budget to employ one full time shop manager and possibly a part time stand in manager. Only be achieving our fund raising and hitting out target amount will we have funds to employee staff.
We intend to stock a value range, chosen from suppliers who match the prices of the big supermarkets. Shop with us and avoid the drive to Helston, serval tractors and a if you unlucky Culdrose queues. Shopping locally is far more environmentally friendly too.
Through selling shares, to the community, visitors and 2nd home owners, along with donations. We are also chasing any grants we are eligible and working with local partners to bring in funding.
The shop will be run as a Community benefits Society (CBS) a Not For Profit business, any surplus money generated will be used to fund other village and community projects.
Yes, we would love to open the shop all year round, but that really depends on having a successful summer season and having the funds to keep the shop open. Changing what the shop stocks and sells in the winter to more support the needs of the local community is key to staying open all year round.
It is an idea we are exploring and excited about, Coverack is beginning to attract more visitors out of season and we are starting to see more coast path walkers too, it would be a great opportunity to open the cafe during the winter season when there isn’t another cafe like business serving the community and visitors.
yes! very where possible we would love to stock and sell local meats and produce, the area has some amazing producers, however we also have to balance the needs of the community and sell value products too.
You can buy one share or many shares, you will however only get one vote giving you the opportunity to say how the Community Benefits Society is run and helping to shape it’s future and the future of the shop.
